Who we are

The internet is impacting our society in an accelerating way and our social fabric is not able to keep up with its pace of development.

Project Copernicus is exploring alternatives for our outdated social fabric by exploring exponential technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual worlds and blockchains in a network of artists, scientists and entrepreneurs.

Project Copernicus is collecting experiments with exponential technologies in Copernicus Spheres, artworks made of glass that are a testament to the Copernican revolution exponential technologies ignite our society into.

The collected experiments are the foundation for Project Copernicus to engage with the outside world. First with Copernicus Expositions that show exponential technologies being applied in a grounded and curious way. Second by bringing together experts in conversations on the (non) functioning of these experiments in so called Copernicus Salons. And last but not least in publications that make it easy for the general public to engage with exponential technologies themselves.

The Copernicus Spheres

Project Copernicus is collecting experiments with exponential technologies in Copernicus Spheres, artworks made of glass that is are a testament of the Copernican revolution the exponential technologies ignite our society into.

The glass spheres are filled with digital value, representing groundbreaking experiments made with AI, virtual worlds and blockchains. Ranging from governance tokens in blockchain protocols that are building the future of finance, to high end digital artworks generated with AI, to tokens that form memberships in DAO’s pioneering with cooperation on the internet, the sphere tells the story of the experimental period of time we are living in.

In times of a Copernicus revolution, groundbreaking technical innovations are made, a new culture emerges and society is lifted into a new realm. With new value systems that challenge all our ideas of value(s) and ownership. So do the Copernicus Spheres.

The value in the artworks already adds up to more than $30.000 and counting with more and more artifacts being added every week. The Copernicus Spheres governed by token holders responsible for its wellbeing. You can read more about its origins here.

Copernicus Expositions, Salons and more

With the construction of the glass sphere, Project Copernicus started as an experiment. The spheres serve as a symbol of a mission to create a sustainable social contract for the digital age and a constant reminder that such a future is possible.

By exhibiting experiments collected in the Copernicus Spheres, in Copernicus Expositions and reflecting on their functioning in Copernicus Salons, Project Copernicus aims to create a platform for exploring and developing new ideas for a fairer society. In more formal words, we are collectively envisioning a sustainable social contract for the digital age.

In addition, Project Copernicus has created Your Guide. In Your Guide a new collective story for the digital age is sketched out, that general people in a practical sense can relate to. A Guide that is one that emphasizes the need for frictionless economic interactions, personal (digital) autonomy and honest distribution of the fruits of digital interaction. Your Guide gives the general public clear guidelines how to contribute to that vision.

Through its efforts, Project Copernicus hopes to contribute to the creation of a society where value systems for the digital age are flexible, safe and just by their (natural) design.
