PROJECT CryptoPunks, launched by Larva Labs in 2017, is an early NFT project on Ethereum featuring 10,000 unique pixel art characters. These avatars quickly became symbols of the digital art and NFT community, pioneering the integration of blockchain technology for digital art ownership and provenance.

TEAM Developed by Matt Hall and John Watkinson of Larva Labs, CryptoPunks emerged from their experimentation with digital collectibles. Their background in software and game development significantly influenced the NFT landscape, and they remain active in evolving their creations and supporting the community.

COMMUNITY GOAL The CryptoPunks community aims to promote digital art ownership and the legitimacy of NFTs as valuable assets. Comprising collectors, artists, and tech enthusiasts, the community champions NFT adoption and explores their utility, while also preserving CryptoPunks’ status as a cornerstone in the NFT art movement.
